"Greatest place ever, hands down! I was there last night for our Christmas Party for the South Brooklyn Lions Club. Everyone was raving about the space, service and especially the food. "Best Pizza in the world I have eaten pizza here since I was a kid living in Bay Ridge. Having lived all over the world on USAF assignments, I always stop in, eat some fresh pizza and pack off with 5 - 8 to go home with. I even froze some and carried them on a plane to my son's place in Alabama. They were as good as fresh when we thawed them and heated them up in Alabama."

Don't get yourself confused if you decide to eat at Vesuvio. It's a larger than normal property that is many things all in one.

This is a take-out pizza place, a casual quick sit-down spot and a great restaurant space for a date or a large party.

It's split up into 3 sections: The take-out portion that kind of looks like a diner, the booths for the quick dining and the traditional restaurant on the sides.

The food is very good and wide-ranging. Their pizza is good and they have very good rice balls and potato croquetts, the ceaser salad is also solid.

My favorite appetizer is the calamari and my favorite pasta is the penne alla vodka al dente with prosciutto, it's very rich and delicious.

Service is quick and may seem too quick at times but it's a fast paced establishment by nature so that's just the way the cookie crumbles!

Definitely check this place out if you are in Bay Ridge and are looking for Italian they have alot to offer.

I have been eating Vesuvio's Pizza since 1987, when I was in elementary school.  A slice then used to cost $1.10.  My cousin and I were so poor as kids, we'd ask the guy behind the counter to cut our slice into two and then we'd share.  

Twenty years later, I've lived in London, Amsterdam and parts of Italy and have gone into investment banking. Vesuvio's is still my favorite slice and continues to define good classic Brooklyn pizza to me.
